I inadvertently started #RPGaMonth because I had a stack of gaming-related books that I had purchased but never read. With #RPGaMonth, I grab one of those books and start reading.
For August, 2019, I chose Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd edition campaign, The Gathering Storm. I would call it an adventure module, but the front of the cover says “A Campaign for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay,” so I guess I won’t argue. At its core, The Gathering Storm is a “retrieve these 4 items and use them to stop great evil” campaign. It can be set in between any other adventure your group is playing, or it can be a starting point. I’ve been thinking of playing the 4e starter set and then moving on to this adventure. I have to actually read the starter set first, though. so we’ll see.
There are some twists and turns in the campaign. It’s set up for a usual grim an perilous campaign, which might catch some players by surprise if they’re new to Warhammer or are used to reskinning D&D adventures for their Warhammer games. I like that. Players should realize they are a flickering candle in a Warhammer world of darkness…and it’s raining.
Seriously. All the time in this adventure. Enjoy!
